Together with Friederike Bungenstock Martina is leading the Department \u201cCoastal and Quaternary Geology\u201d. Martina is specialized in coastal sedimentary systems. Her research focuses on the relationship between natural landscape dynamics and human adaptation strategies. She is working on a process-oriented understanding of the interrelationships between coastal morphological processes and the changes in human habitats in the northern German coastal region during the Holocene.
