Wadcouple

Wadden Sea knowledge co-creation for the effective use of scientific insights for policy and learning for sustainability

The project

The WADcouple project (2025–2028) is the synthesis and transfer initiative of the trilateral Wadden Sea research program. The project started in June 2025 and aims to effectively apply the scientific findings of trilateral Wadden Sea research to policy and enrich them with a socio-ecological perspective.

To this end, the WADcouple project is organizing a transdisciplinary knowledge integration process on three different levels. At the first level, the integration and synthesis of newly acquired knowledge from the five projects of the trilateral Wadden Sea research (ParCA, SALTGARDEN, TRICMA2, Sedway, WADWAD) is being organized. At the second level, the active integration of social actors who are not yet represented in the individual projects is being pursued. At the third level, the integration of knowledge from the five projects is being deepened and made usable for the evaluation of various usage scenarios in the Wadden Sea region through the development of a socio-ecological perspective.
